Te Raa Hauora - Puanga 2019

Te Kaahui o Rauru in partnership with Te Oranganui Trust, hosted a Raa Hauora to celebrate Puanga on Thursday 20 June 2019 at the Waverley Community Centre in Waverley.  A great turnout from the local community and schools.  Thank-you to all of the organisations that participated in the event and we look forward to more collaborations with agencies and service providers within the rohe of Ngaa Rauru in the near future.

Ngaa Rauru Kiitahi

It’s been 16 years since the establishment of Kii Tahi Limited, formally Kii Tahi Nursery and Land care which was established in 2003 with the assistance of funding from Te Puni Kokiri.  In that time we have seen a number of great things come from the little nursery next door to Wai-o-Turi Marae where the business dreams and aspirations continue to grow.

Kiwi Trip: Piki-Maunga

An opportunity was provided for Rangatahi and Pahake from Ngaa Rauru to repatriated a Kiwi from Puukaha to Maunga Tautari, Waikato-Tainui.  The Kiwi was rescued along with an egg from a farm in Waverley and was transferred and nurtured by the staff at Puukaha.  The kiwi was given the name ‘Piki-Maunga’ by the Iwi.

Nanni Camp April 2019

The Nanni Campers were together again this month where they focused on Te reo maaori, te reo rotarota, tikanga, karakia and the significance of ANZAC.  Of the 22 registered, 15 attended the Nanni Camp with a number of new faces. The Camp Nannies were supported by a group of rangatahi who provided leadership to our future leaders and also guided them with learning their pepeha and teaching them new waiata…

Paepae 101 Waananga

In an effort to increase participation and to satisfy the need to strengthen the Paepae on the Marae, the whaanau at Wai-o-Turi Marae have implemented Paepae 101 waananga for uri who wish to learn the basic fundamentals of a poowhiri.
