Project Manager – Te Kawa Matarau (Rangatiratanga Governance Model)
Location: Flexible within Aotearoa (some travel required) I Employment Type: Contract to December 2025

We’re inviting proposals from experienced project managers to support a kaupapa that’s central to the future of our iwi. Te Kaahui o Rauru is seeking a contractor to manage the design and delivery of a Rangatiratanga Governance Model, to be presented at our 2025 AGM.
This role will work closely with the Te Kahu Mataiho Advisory Group, reporting to the Chair, and will require coordination, leadership, and engagement across multiple workstreams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, a solid understanding of governance structures, and the ability to work within tikanga Maaori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

The Rangatiratanga Governance Model will:
- Enhance our identity as Ngaa Rauru Kiitahi
- Deliver a cost-effective, efficient governance structure
- Be future-focused and capable of generating lasting outcomes for uki
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan and consultation plan
- Coordinate Advisory Group activities and maintain project reporting
- Facilitate hui and stakeholder engagement
- Lead the development of deliverables for AGM approval, including key documents and recommendations
- Work with legal and policy advisors to align outputs with the Trust Deed and governance framework
What We’re Looking For
- Proven project management experience (kaupapa Maaori context preferred)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
- Understanding of governance processes and policy
- Independent, proactive, and clear communicator
- Comfortable operating across marae, community, and organisational spaces
Contract Details
- Contract to December 2025
- Remuneration based on experience and deliverables
- Travel and expenses covered per TKOR policy
