
Te Kaahui o Rauru Governance Secretariat
Te Kaahui o Rauru is seeking expressions of interest from experienced professionals to provide high-quality governance secretariat services to Te Kaahui o Rauru Group, including its subsidiaries and sub-committees. This is a contractor role, ideally suited to someone based locally or who has the ability to attend some hui in person as required.

This role plays a critical part in supporting the effectiveness of our governance entities, including:

Te Paepae o Te Kaahui o Rauru (Trust Board)

Pookai Aronui (Commercial Group)

Paepae Kookiri (Executive Committee)

Audit, Investment & Risk Committee
You will work closely with Chairs, the Tumu Whakahaere, and leadership to ensure governance processes run smoothly, professionally, and with integrity.

Key responsibilities
Governance Support

Provide high-quality secretariat and administrative support across governance entities

Prepare agendas, collate board papers, and distribute documentation to deadlines

Take clear, concise, and accurate minutes and maintain action registers

Support development of reports and governance documentation
-
Maintain secure and organised records of all governance proceedings
-
Act as a key point of contact for governance-related enquiries
Planning & Coordination

Coordinate hui including venues, catering, and logistics
-
Support delivery of governance events such as AGM, planning sessions, and inductions
-
Assist with governance projects aligned to the annual plan
-
Ensure governance documentation (Trust Deed, policies, manuals) is current and adhered to
Systems & Communication

Maintain document management systems (digital and manual)

Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and governance/board platforms

Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
About you
We are looking for someone who:

Has proven experience supporting governance or executive leadership

Is highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines

Demonstrates excellent minute-taking and written communication skills

Can handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Is proactive, reliable, and comfortable working independently

Has strong relationship management skills and can work across governance and management
This is a part-time contract role with a structured but flexible monthly workload aligned to governance cycles (estimated 10–30 hours per month, with additional time required for key events such as AGM and planning sessions).
